BACKGROUND
A community whose story hasn't been fully told
Austin's Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) population has grown rapidly over the last decade, yet there remains limited local data about how AANHPI artists are navigating creative careers, cultural identity, economic sustainability, and access to opportunity.
This survey marks the first effort of its kind to capture a detailed snapshot of AANHPI creative life across Greater Austin across disciplines, neighborhoods, and experience levels.

The Lunar Foundation recognizes that thriving arts communities depend not only on artists themselves, but also on audiences, community participation, and public engagement.
By surveying both AANHPI artists and individuals who engage with the arts more broadly, we gain a more complete picture of how AANHPI cultural work is created, experienced, and supported within Austin's rapidly changing cultural landscape.
Our goal is to collect data to authentically inform TLF's programming and future community investment strategies and to help guide cultural arts organizations dedicated to strengthening Austin's creative future.
